Kelsey & Marisa
The idea for the Inn was born on a trip to Argentina in 2014. After meeting at work in San Francisco in 2012, we knew we wanted to something completely different than what we were doing. Marisa spent many years focused on Intellectual Property in DC and San Francisco while Kelsey's many years in San Francisco had her focused on HR and her own entrepreneurial projects.
We started traveling together and quickly realized that we had the passion, drive and conviction to open the Inn we had always dreamed of. We would spend hours rearranging our AirBnbs and hotel rooms to try to improve the ambience and we were desperate to create the highly appointed space for our guests that we would have wanted to stay in during all of our travel adventures. Kelsey's childhood summers spent in Buena Vista meant many trips to the area over the years and the seed was planted.
We moved from San Francisco to Chicago to buy a place we could beta by hosting guests as often as possible. We were both working full time, Marisa was teaching yoga and we were hosting as many guests as we could to learn taxes, logistics, guest needs, etc. It was an insanely busy hustle time while we saved all of our pennies for the Inn! We relocated to Buena Vista in August 2019 and spent the fall and winter setting the Inn up. It was surreal to open in February 2020, despite COVID setbacks.
To see guests leave more whole and more peaceful means the absolute world to us and is the heart of what we aim to do. Being tucked into the mountains, so close to the river and surrounded by nature allows our guests to explore all the adventure this area offers. Quick access to nature was so deeply important for us to have and for us to be able to offer to guests.
We are so deeply grateful for the incredible support of our Buena Vista community. Living in Colorado and opening this Inn has been an absolute dream come true for us. We wouldn't be here without God, the support of our community and our guests that we love so dearly. And for that, we say thank you! God Bless!
